"A short note to tell you a bit about John Blais. I fished with John for three days last month along with my son-in-law and grandson. I've fished with guides all over north America for the past 40+ years and can attest to John's prowess as a professional guide. His knowledge and demeanor are second to none when it comes to working with youngsters. My grandson was absolutely thrilled with the introduction to smallmouth bass fishing. Under John's tutelage Hudson caught a beautiful five and a half pound smallmouth. John even went so far as to take him along with the son-in-law on a brook trout excursion one evening before dinner.

Additionally, John is one fine cook preparing superb lunch time meals each day.

In short, John is the real deal.

I fish a great deal with guides around the country and can usually assess the quality of the guide over the phone by asking different questions. I remember that my decision to book a trip with John was easy after our conversation and I wasn't disappointed.

My criteria included choosing an experienced and competent guide with a safety conscious attitude and the ability to provide a high level of comfort. My wife often joins me for guided fishing trips, but she doesn't like to stay out all day the way I do, so the ability to pick her up and drop her off midway during a full day trip was key for her enjoyment. We had a great time and caught a high number of fish (mostly smallmouth bass with a northern pike mixed in). We were stopped by a Maine DEC officer who was patrolling the waters and passed every aspect of the inspection (demonstrating John's safety conscious operating standards mentioned earlier).

I enjoyed fishing with John so much that I've booked two trips for this year (7/30/06 and 7/31/06) for bass fishing on a lake and trout fishing on the Kennebec River. Feel free to contact me with any further questions.

Well John is great at a lot, especially fishing.He loves to fish, and to be able to share his wealth of knowledge and expertise of fishing with someone makes him a happy guy. He knows all the lakes, all the best fishing spots, and would give anyone a day of fun they won't soon forget!
